The iconic last moment of Stephen Sondheim's all-American musical Assassins is captured in this cross stitch pattern, available as a digital download.

Inspired by the final pose of the 2004 Broadway cast of Assassins, this piece features, from left to right, John Hinckley, Jr., Sara Jane Moore, Giuseppe Zangara, John Wilkes Booth, Lee Harvey Oswald, Samuel Byck, Lynette "Squeaky" Fromme, Charles Guiteau, and Leon Czolgosz. Each of these Americans either assassinated or attempted to assassinate a United States president. While some have been more or less forgotten, each made history in their own way and each was immortalized in the 1990 Sondheim show.

The pattern was designed for 14 count Aida cloth, but can be stitched on a different count, though that will change the size of the finished piece. Stitched on 14 count cloth as shown, the finished piece is 13 inches by 4.5 inches. This pattern uses full stitches, half stitches, and back stitching in a DMC color palette.
